Thank you for your post (and follow up LinkedIn post on what "did work"). Having launched several SaaS/online businesses we've experienced a lot of the same challenges. It's great to see this all here in one post, thank you!
This was so enlightening! I'm a new founder and am immensely thankful to have read this now. Can't wait for the next issue. Very curious as to what worked!
Thank you Melissa. Shared this inside Ibbaka. You make a lot of important points, but the key thing I take away is that you need to be authentic and concerned with other people and what you can do for them.
This is so accurate! I think every new founders should go through this cycle as a rite of passage. All these are too tempting to not attempt. But I hope with insightful articles like these, new founders will learn to cut their losses early and focus on the product or business.
Wait, but what did work eventually?? So curious now!

Bullseye - were they mistakes or learning points ?
This is the 3rd time that I have read this post. It is helping me to understand my marketing results! And take advantage for the next steps.

YES! You can have bootstrapped successful businesses.
I loved how this broke down everything that didn't work!
I see this all the time. Startup founders spending money on various “experts” and agencies like they have a magic wand. A lot of wasted money.
You’ve got to do the learning and work yourself first until you know what help you need.
